NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS Finisar (FNSR), Logitech (LOGI) and Sears (SHLD) are advancing this morning, while Ubiquiti Networks (UBNT), Interoil (IOC) and Ulta Salon (ULTA) are in retreat. Natural Resource Partners (NRP) and Franco-Nevada (FNV) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while Tyco (TYCO) and Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) were downgraded. MARKET OVERVIEW Asian markets moved in various directions again overnight. The Japanese Nikkei 225 rose 0.8%, while the Shanghai SEC dipped 0.4%. Most of the other larger indices were closer to flat, with the Taiwan TSEC down 0.1%, the Hong Kong Hang Seng up 0.1% and the Mumbai Sensex up 0.2%. The major European indices are all higher so far this morning. The Euronext 100 and German DAX are each up 0.4% at last check, while the FTSE 100 has gained 0.3% and the French CAC 40 is higher by 0.2%. Large European oil companies got a lift when HSBC analysts gave an upbeat evaluation of several stocks in the sector. In the futures pits, West Texas Intermediate crude is down just a few cents and holding steady above $97.00. Natural gas, heating oil, and gasoline are all higher this morning. Most metals are little changed, with gold is flat at $1,229. Platinum is the biggest mover in that group, down $9.00 or 0.6% to $1,354. The U.S. Dollar is stronger against the Euro and the Yen, while Bitcoins are currently at $1,077. PUT/CALL RATIO Yesterday, 1,091,333 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 564,836 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.52, while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.56. SUPPORT & RESISTANCE LEVELS The S&P 500 Depository Receipts (SPY) ETF has support at $175 and is above resistance. The Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has support at $82 and is above resistance.
