NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS Owens Corning (OC), Fossil Group (FOSL) and Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF) are advancing in pre-market trading, while Brocade Communications (BRCD), Western Union (WU) and Federal Express are in retreat. Itron (ITRI), ComScore (SCOR) and TripAdvisor were upgraded this morning, while Dean Foods (DF), Apartment Investment Management Company (AIV) and Royal Gold (RGLD) were downgraded. MARKET OVERVIEW Asian stock markets moved higher overnight, led by the Hong Kong Hang Seng again, which added 1.5%. The Taiwan TSEC and the Australian All-Ordinaries each rose 1.0%, and the Nikkei 225 and the Shanghai SEC finished in positive territory, but trailed behind. China reported strong trade data, with both imports and exports picking up more than 10%, while analysts were projecting much smaller gains. In Europe, the major markets are all moderately higher so far this morning, but many of the smaller indices are retreating. The German DAX is leading the way higher, up 0.8%, while the French CAC 40 and the Euronext 100 are rising 0.4% each. The Bank of England raised its GDP outlook and said that the economic recovery is gaining momentum, but reiterated that rates will remain low until the unemployment rate hits their target of 7%. West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures remain above $100, up 0.8% today. Heating oil, gasoline, and natural gas are all higher as well, with natural gas threatening the $5.00 mark again. Gold and other metals are mostly unchanged this morning. The U.S. Dollar is stronger against the Euro and weaker versus the Yen. The Bitcoin global average is $663 at last check, down 5% in the past day. PUT/CALL RATIO Yesterday, 1,282,550 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 707,899 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.55, while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.59. SUPPORT & RESISTANCE LEVELS The S&P 500 Depository Receipts (SPY) ETF has climbed back above its 50-day moving average at $182. The Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has support at $86.50 and is above resistance.
