INTERNATIONAL MARKETS Asian stocks finished the day with gains. The Nikkei gained 2.70% on the day while the Shanghai Composite added 0.48%. The Hang Seng gained 1.41%. Stocks in Europe are also higher as shares of mining and automobile companies rallied after several session of heavy losses. The FTSE gained 2.33% while the Dax added 2.60%. FUTURES & CURRENCIES Energy futures are mixed today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is down $0.13 to $45.10 per barrel, while natural gas is down $0.01 to $2.57. Metals prices are lower this morning. Gold is down $3.80 to $1,123.00 per ounce and platinum is down $155 at $915.35 an ounce. The Dollar is up versus the Euro and against the Yen. PUT/CALL RATIO Yesterday, 574,740 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 543,951 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.95 while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.78.
