PowerOptions API Introduction
Welcome to the PowerOptions API
The PowerOptions Application Programming Interface (API) provides an easy solution for interacting with the PowerOptions patented suite of tools. With the PowerOptions API, an individual or company can host any front-end user interface for the tools they like, and the back end functionality is provided for you by PowerOptions.
This application programing interface is provided as we recognize that the existing tools and data on the PowerOptions (www.poweropt.com) web site are not a perfect fit for all users. We may not provide every ratio or calculation that you'd like to have. The API is an additional feature to the PowerOptions site that allows you to create your own calculations, ratios and user interface. By using the API with your individual calculations and ratios and searches, you can keep your data private.
Using the PowerOptions API will take special technical skills for implementation and is not intended for the average user. Implementing a custom API program solution will require programming skills. The API should be used by advanced users who need a bit more flexibility than the existing PowerOptions tools allow. If you are not a programmer and are not comfortable programming an API solution yourself, you can contact any independent programmer to write something for you. The PowerOptions staff programmers may also be available to write a custom solution for you, for an additional fee.
Requests for data and functionality that are available in the API do have some restrictions. As repeated requests in quick succession may cause undue burden on our systems, we do ask that requests be spread out over time and we do cap the total number of data requests to 20,000 quotes per month. If you require higher data rates, we have less restricted access available for additional fees.
