| You can avoid using the horizontal scroll bar on your browser window by setting your display resolution to at least 1024x768 pixels and
1152x1024 or 1280x1024 is better. This will also ensure that you see all of the results tables from the searches that you perform. If your video card will allow, you should also set
your monitor to display as many colors as possible. The design and coloration of the site looks different when viewed with 256 colors, and is intended for 16 bit
color and greater. On an IBM compatible computer these settings can be easily changed, here's the procedure:
1. After power start up, right mouse click the screen background
2. Click Properties (near the bottom of the menu)
3. Click Settings (far right of the menu)
4. Choose the largest screen resolution that your computer can produce without dropping the colors to less than 16 bit. Although each video card will vary with
memory and performance, the major resolutions that most support are: 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. You can also select the color resolution from this
screen. Select 16 bit or better.
Note: If you are an AOL user, your screen resolution is especially important for using our site. The AOL screen takes up more of the monitors total viewing area than just using a browser. Because of this, we suggest that you:
1. Set your monitor resolution to 1024x768 or larger.
2. Consider using AOL to dialup to the internet, then start a separate browser program such as FireFox, Netscape, or Internet Explorer.
