NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far today, Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Winn-Dixie, and Clear
Channel lead the list of companies with the most news stories while
Aircastle Limited and Yingli Green Energy are showing a spike in
news. Priceline.Com, Suncor Energy, and Diageo have the highest
srtIndex scores to top the list of companies with positive news
while Sotheby's and Leap Wireless International lead the list of
companies with negative news reports. FMC Technologies Inc. has
popped up with a high positive news sraIndex score.
MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Things are looking bleak in overseas trading this morning, as six
of nine reporting Asian/Pacific markets down and all nine reporting
European markets are down. The Australian All Ordinaries Index is
up 0.75%, while the Japan Nikkei is down 2.06%, the British FTSE
100 is down 1.18% and the France CAC 40 is down 2.42%.
Crude oil futures are higher again by more than 1% this morning,
with the front month contract currently trading at 125.28, but
reaching an overnight high of nearly 126. Heating oil is up by more
than 2%, gasoline is higher by 1%, as is natural gas. In metals,
gold has advanced by 0.5%, while silver and copper are virtually
unchanged. Platinum is on the rise, up 27.70 to 20.70, up 1.3%.
