NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far today, Boeing, Charlotte Russe Holding, and Qualcomm lead
the list of companies with the most news stories while Hewlett-
Packard Company and Motorola are showing a spike in news. St. Jude
Medical Inc., Imclone Systems, and Morgan Stanley have the highest
srtIndex scores to top the list of companies with positive news
while Circuit City Stores and FormFactor lead the list of companies
with negative news reports. Citigroup has popped up with a high
positive news sraIndex score.
MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Overseas trading is mixed so far today, with eight of nine
reporting Asian/Pacific markets down and five of nine reporting
European markets up. The India BSE 30 is up 1.30% and the MIBTel is
up 0.32%, while the Madrid General is down 0.50% and the China
Shanghai Composite is down 5.50%.
In futures, energy interests are mostly slightly lower this
morning. Crude oil is down 0.29 to 108.21 and heating oil and
gasoline are following suit. Natural gas however is up 0.15 or 1.5%
to 9.85. In metals, gold, silver, and platinum are all lower so
far, but copper is putting in a positive showing.
