NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far today, Jones Apparel, Kraft Foods, and Procter & Gamble lead
the list of companies with the most news stories while Corinthian
Colleges, Inc. and Beckman Coulter, Inc. are showing a spike in
news. Microsoft, Oracle Corp., and SAP AG have the highest srtIndex
scores to top the list of companies with positive news while
General Motors and Alexion Pharmaceuticals lead the list of
companies with negative news reports. IBM Corp. has popped up with
a high positive news sraIndex score.
MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Results from overseas trading were not positive last night, as six
of nine reporting Asian/Pacific markets are down and eight of nine
reporting European markets are down. The Japan Nikkei is down 0.32%
and the British FTSE 100 is down 0.51%, while the China Shanghai
Composite is up 4.82% and the Austria ATX is up 0.65%.
Crude futures are up slightly this morning after getting pushed
much lower yesterday. Front month crude is currently trading at
116.04. Heating oil, natural gas and gasoline are all also
marginally higher. In metals, gold is off by 0.5%, while silver is
up fractionally and copper is off just a little.
