Western Digital (WDC), Starbucks (SBUX) and KLA-Tencor (KLAC). Analyst
upgrades this morning include Jetblue Airways (JBLU), NetScout Systems

MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Stocks in Asia ended mostly lower today, as traders were none too
impressed by the Bank of Japan's newly expanded bond-buying program.
News of the central bank's stepped-up stimulus effort was overshadowed
by a Standard & Poor's downgrade of Spain, while downbeat earnings from
Foxconn and Bank of China also weighed on the market's mood. On the
other hand, Samsung led the gainers in Seoul after reporting a stronger-
than-forecast profit. By the close, Japan's Nikkei and China's Shanghai
Composite each gave up 0.4%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.3%, and South
Korea's Kospi advanced 0.6%.
European equities are sitting on modest gains at midday, with traders
looking past a two-notch S&P downgrade of Spain's sovereign debt. A
well-received Italian debt auction is helping to boost sentiment, after
the government attracted healthy demand for bonds of various maturities.
At last check, London's FTSE 100 and the German DAX are both 0.5%
higher, while the French CAC 40 is up 0.9%.
The U.S. dollar index continues to pull back, with the greenback last
seen 0.3% lower at $78.91. Elsewhere, crude oil is down 0.3% at $104.29
per barrel. Gold futures have turned tail, with the malleable metal
pointed 0.3% south of breakeven at $1,655.80 an ounce.
PUT/CALL RATIO ---------------------------------------------------
Equity option activity on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) saw
1,315,159 call contracts traded on Thursday, compared to 820,523 put
contracts. The resultant single-session put/call ratio arrived at 0.62,
while the 21-day moving average was 0.63.
SUPPORT & RESISTANCE LEVELS --------------------------------------
The S&P Depository Receipts (SPY) show support in the neighborhood of
$135.95 with resistance near $140.35. The Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has shown
support around $65.55 and resistance around $67.15.
