lead the list of companies with the most news stories while BB&T
Corporation and Leggett & Platt, Inc. are showing a spike in news.
Nokia Corp., Baxter International Inc., and Southwest Airlines have
the highest srtIndex scores to top the list of companies with
positive news while Merrill Lynch & Co. and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Electric Co. has popped up with a high positive news sraIndex

MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Overseas trading is mixed this morning, with 7 of the 11 foreign
indices that we track in positive territory. The cumulative average
return on the collective stands at a gain of 0.56%. In Asia, most
indices rallied in the wake of the U.S. market's triple-digit gains
yesterday. The Shanghai Composite was the black sheep, however,
falling more than 2% after the Chinese central bank increased
banks' reserve requirement by half a percentage point to 16%. The
move came on the heels of economic data showing China's inflation
surged 8.3% from March 2007.

Across the pond in Europe, catering company Sodexo rose more than
10% in French trading, after reporting a 10% rise in first-half
profit. Elsewhere, Paris wine producer Remy Cointreau jumped more
than 6.5% after estimating "significant organic growth" in fiscal
2008 operating profit. Things weren't as peach for Swiss
pharmaceutical firm Roche (RHHBY), dropping more than 3% in the
wake of reporting weaker-than-expected first-quarter sales.

Gold futures parlayed the weak dollar into a tidy gain yesterday,
adding $16.30 to close at $948.30 an ounce. The bulls received
momentum from the dollar's problems, but the greenback garnered
some strength from rising crude. Other metals finished the day
higher as well, with May silver adding 48 cents, July platinum
advancing $50.90, June palladium adding $6.25, and May copper
tacking on 10 cents.

Another week, another surprise in the crude inventory report. This
week's surprise drop in inventories pushed crude to an intraday
high of $115.07 per barrel. While black gold backed away from this
benchmark high, it finished yesterday 1% ($1.23) higher at $114.45
per barrel. Contracting inventories were the main driver of the
increase, but some blame was also laid at the feet of a weakening
dollar.

PUT/CALL RATIO ---------------------------------------------------
Equity option activity on the CBOE saw 1,529,075 call contracts
traded on Wednesday, compared to 1,103,019 put contracts. The
resultant single-session put/call ratio came in at 0.72, while the
21-day moving average pulled back to 0.82.
