NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far today, Knight Capital Group Inc., Abbott Laboratories, and
J.P.Morgan Chase lead the list of companies with the most news
stories while Mobile TeleSystems and The Mosaic Company are showing
a spike in news. Johnson Controls Inc., Intel, and Rio Tinto PLC
have the highest srtIndex scores to top the list of companies with
positive news while Sigma Designs Inc. and Shanda Interactive lead
the list of companies with negative news reports. Coca-Cola Company
has popped up with a high positive news sraIndex score.
MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Overseas trading is looking good today, with seven of nine
reporting Asian/Pacific markets up and eight of nine reporting
European markets up. The Japan Nikkei is up 1.20% and the Austria
ATX is up 0.74%, while the China Shanghai Composite is down 1.69%
and the SSMI Index is down 0.34%.
Energy futures are higher again this morning as front month crude
has hit highs above $114, but has settled just below that level,
currently trading at 113.94, up just 0.15. Heating oil, gasoline
and natural gas are all higher again today also. Metals are on the
move, with gold up about 1%, silver up 1.5%, and copper up more
than 2%.
