NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far today, Circuit City Stores, Schering-Plough Corporation, and
Target lead the list of companies with the most news stories while
Lazard Ltd. and General Electric are showing a spike in news.
Wachovia, Bank of America, and Citigroup have the highest srtIndex
scores to top the list of companies with positive news while
Blockbuster Inc. and Best Buy lead the list of companies with
negative news reports. Manitowoc Company has popped up with a high
positive news sraIndex score.
MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Overseas trading is looking glum, with eight of nine reporting
Asian/Pacific markets down and all nine reporting European markets
are down. The China Shanghai Composite is down 5.62% the German DAX
is down 1.10%, and the Austria ATX is down 0.84%, while the India
BSE 30 is up 0.72%.
Energy futures are higher this morning as front month crude has
bubbled up past $111. Heating oil and natural gas are also higher,
with natural gas breaking the $10 mark. Metals are less exciting,
as copper is the only major mover so far, down 5.45 to 394.55 or
1.4%.
