Overseas trading is headed into the weekend in style, as all 10
foreign indexes that we track are in positive territory. The
cumulative average return on the collective stands at a gain of
0.77%. In Asian trading, regional indexes closed mostly higher,
with Japanese stocks pacing gains due to hopes that the Bank of

Shanghai and Hong Kong gained strength after Premier Wen Jiabao
said the government will maintain its "moderately" loose policies
and set an 8% economic growth target for this year. Turning to
Europe, stocks advanced ahead of key U.S. employment data.

The U.S. dollar and commodities are trading in tight ranges this
morning, as traders play the waiting game ahead of U.S. employment
data. At last check, the U.S. Dollar Index was off 0.01% at 80.56,
while crude futures were up 0.54% at $80.64 per barrel. Finally,
gold is moderately higher in London, with futures rising $2.30 to
trade at $1,135.40 an ounce.
