NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far today, Bunge, Garmin Ltd., and GTX Inc. lead the list of
companies with the most news stories while China Finance Online Co.
and Qualcomm are showing a spike in news. Barclays PLC, Diebold,
Inc., and Boeing have the highest srtIndex scores to top the list
of companies with positive news while Nokia and Verisign lead the
list of companies with negative news reports. HSBC Holdings has
popped up with a high positive news sraIndex score.
MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Overseas trading is looking pretty rough today, as seven of nine
reporting Asian/Pacific markets are down and all nine reporting
European markets are down. The Japan Nikkei is down 4.49%, the
Austria ATX is down 2.57%, and the Belgium Bel 20 is down 1.53%,
while the China Shanghai Composite is up 2.06%.
Crude oil futures are lower this morning, with the front month
contract off by 0.49 or about 0.5%. Natural gas is slightly higher,
while gasoline and heating oil are slightly lower. In metals, gold
and silver are both significantly higher, while copper is really
moving, up 6.20 or 1.6%.
