NEWS LEADERS AND LAGGARDS-----------------------------------------
So far this morning, Macy's (M), Office Depot (ODP), and Medco
Health Solutions (MHS) lead the list of companies with positive
news, while Nordstrom (JWN), Target (TGT), and Brocade
Communications (BRCD) lead the list of companies with negative
news. Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI), China Life Insurance
(LFC), Calpine (CPN) were upgraded this morning, while Campbell
Soup (CPB), Corning (GLW), and Discovery (DISCA) received
downgrades.

MARKET OVERVIEW---------------------------------------------------
Overseas trading is in rough shape this morning, as only three of
the 10 foreign indexes that we track are in positive territory.
The cumulative average return on the collective stands at a loss of
0.25%. In Asia, most stock indexes ended mixed, as investors
turned cautious ahead of Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke's
testimony before Congress, which will give clues on the U.S.
recovery. Ping An Insurance, China's second largest insurer, fell
nearly 8.9% in Shanghai after it said three of its mainland
shareholders would sell 800 million restricted A-shares over the
next five years after the expiry of a three-year lock up period.
Trading in Europe is deep in the red this morning, following a
closely watched survey showing German business sentiment
unexpectedly fell in February.

The U.S. dollar is headed higher in pre-market trading, with
currency traders gathering strength ahead of Bernanke's testimony
before Congress. Specifically, the U.S. Dollar Index was up 0.24%
at 80.70 at last check. The stronger dollar is applying pressure
to commodities, with crude futures down nearly 2% at $78.73 per
barrel. Meanwhile, gold futures are holding up better, shedding
just $3.90 to trade at $1,109.20 an ounce in London.

PUT/CALL RATIO ---------------------------------------------------
Equity option activity on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE)
saw 1,411,219 call contracts traded on Monday, compared to 892,234
put contracts. The resultant single-session put/call ratio arrived
at 0.63, while the 21-day moving average held at 0.68.

SUPPORT & RESISTANCE LEVELS --------------------------------------
The S&P Depository Receipts (SPY) show support in the neighborhood
of $110.05 and resistance around $111.60. For the Nasdaq 100
(QQQQ), support is near $44.25 and resistance is around $45.05.
